What does the selected reference establish?
PULS defines hold-up time as the interval after input power is lost during which the output remains within specification. The July 2026 CP5.481 datasheet states that this interval depends on output load and separates typical and minimum entries.
RFQ Templates is independent and is not affiliated with PULS. This is a comparison of evidence fields, not a recommendation to use that product in a particular electrical package. Obtain the actual offered model's current data and the responsible engineer's acceptance basis.

Which conditions should each supplier return?
Keep the time in the same row as its conditions. A headline number copied from a graph or a different product variant cannot answer an RFQ requirement by itself.
| RFQ field | Supplier response | Comparison check |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Exact offered variant and revision | Same item as the price? |
| Duration | Time and stated unit | Hold-up rather than startup? |
| Output | Voltage and load condition | Required operating case? |
| Input | Applicable supply condition | Same comparison basis? |
| Criterion | Output limit defining the interval | Same endpoint? |
| Basis | Typical or minimum with source | Same evidence strength? |
| Scope | Included supply and external devices | Same package boundary? |
What makes a longer quoted duration inconclusive?
Illustrative example. A fictional offer lists a 40 ms typical hold-up time at half load. Another lists 25 ms minimum at the required load. Ranking them only by 40 versus 25 compares different operating and evidence bases.
The procurement reviewer requests comparable data for the required case and records the engineer's disposition. The example does not identify a real supplier, establish a required duration or prove that either offer is acceptable. A typical value is not silently relabeled as a guaranteed minimum.
What else belongs outside the simple comparison?
Power supply hold-up, a separate buffer module, battery autonomy and the time a downstream device can tolerate a voltage disturbance are different system questions. Record included equipment and open interfaces rather than combine their labels into a single backup time.
Do not alter wiring or test a live supply from this worksheet. Technical suitability, protection and test arrangements need the approved engineering review. Engineering sign-off is performed only by the registered engineer on the job.
Common questions
What else should the bid team know?
Is hold-up time independent of output load?
No. Preserve the stated load with the duration.
Can a typical value be treated as a minimum?
No. Keep the manufacturer's stated basis.
Does hold-up time alone establish system ride-through?
No. The complete system and its requirements need engineering review.
