What does the data sheet distinguish?
Mean Well's PS-65 specification dated 20 September 2022 lists working temperature separately from storage temperature and humidity, and refers its working-temperature entry to a derating curve. These are distinct labelled conditions, not one interchangeable temperature range.
RFQ Templates is independent and is not affiliated with Mean Well. This dated data sheet illustrates terminology only. It is not a current availability claim, product recommendation or approval for a control panel or generator enclosure.

How can a quotation comparison become misleading?
Illustrative example. A fictional enclosure RFQ asks whether a control power supply can meet the required output under the specified powered ambient conditions. A supplier comparison copies a wider storage range into the operating-temperature column. The broad-looking range has not answered the powered performance question.
Return that line for clarification rather than mark it compliant or infer a usable output. Ask for the selected item's operating basis, relevant derating evidence and installation conditions. An enclosure ambient requirement and an internal component temperature are not automatically the same measurement point.
Which fields should the RFQ response keep separate?
Preserve the original units, labels, conditions and revision. A range stripped from its notes can imply a capability that was not stated.
| Record | Evidence or interpretation |
|---|---|
| Selected item | Exact model, variant and data-sheet revision |
| Powered condition | Working or operating range and ambient definition |
| Load basis | Required output and applicable derating evidence |
| Installation | Cooling, orientation and stated conditions |
| Storage | Separate non-operating conditions and humidity basis |
| Gap | Unanswered requirement and supplier clarification |
| Review | Responsible technical acceptance reference |
What closes the comparison line?
The supplier provides traceable evidence for the actual quoted configuration and the responsible technical owner reviews it against the RFQ. Preserve any exception and resulting configuration change. Do not substitute a storage entry, absolute maximum or marketing summary for the required operating evidence.
This worksheet does not specify a temperature limit or establish whole-enclosure thermal performance. Engineering sign-off is performed only by the registered engineer on the job.
Common questions
What else should the bid team know?
Does a wide storage range prove the same operating range?
No. They describe different conditions.
Does a temperature endpoint guarantee full output?
Not by itself. Check the applicable load and derating conditions.
Does this dated example recommend the cited power supply?
No. Use the actual selected item and current approved evidence.
